Life After Salvation

Life After Salvation

So you’ve accepted Jesus! That’s amazing! But what happens now? Well, buckle up because some pretty cool transformations might be coming your way!

Changes and Transformations:

Imagine a caterpillar. It munches on leaves, crawls around, and doesn’t look much special. Then, wham! It builds a chrysalis and transforms into a beautiful butterfly (2 Corinthians 5:17). That’s kind of like what happens when you accept Jesus! The Holy Spirit, like a superpower, starts working inside you, bringing about changes that might surprise you:

  • Priorities Shift: Things that were important before might seem less exciting now. You might find yourself drawn to spending more time with God and people who share your faith.
  • Bad Habits Take Flight: Just like a butterfly wouldn’t get far tangled in a cocoon, you might find yourself wanting to ditch bad habits that don’t reflect your new faith.
  • Love Takes Root: God is love (1 John 4:8), and that love might overflow into your life, making you kinder, more forgiving, and more helpful to others.

Living a Life that Reflects Salvation:

Being saved isn’t just about going to heaven; it’s about living a life that shows you love and follow Jesus. Here’s how:

  • Shine Your Light: Just like a lamp shines in a dark room (Matthew 5:16), you can be a light to others by reflecting Jesus’ love through your words and actions.
  • Help Others: Jesus spent his life helping others (Mark 1:34). You can show your faith by helping those in need, whether it’s a friend or someone you don’t know.
  • Read the Bible: The Bible is like God’s instruction manual for life. Reading it will help you learn more about Jesus and how to live a life that pleases him (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Remember: Change takes time. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results overnight. The important thing is to keep growing in your faith and letting Jesus work in your life.

Story Time!

Let’s revisit Sarah and Ben from before. Sarah keeps trying to be “good enough” on her own. Ben, on the other hand, lets his faith guide him. He might still struggle with things like being impatient, but he apologizes and tries to be more understanding. He also volunteers at a local soup kitchen because his faith inspires him to help others.

Live a life that reflects your faith, and the world will see the amazing transformation Jesus brings!
