The woman with the issue of blood is a figure from the New Testament of the Bible, specifically mentioned in the Gospel of Mark (Mark 5:25–34), as well as in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 9:20–22) and the Gospel of Luke (Luke 8:43–48).
According to the Gospel accounts, the woman had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years and had spent all her money seeking medical help, but her condition only worsened. She had heard about Jesus and believed that if she could just touch his garment, she would be healed. In great faith, she approached Jesus in a crowd, touched the hem of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
Jesus, perceiving power had gone out from him, turned and asked who had touched him. The disciples were puzzled because of the crowded situation, but the woman came forward, trembling with fear, and confessed what she had done. Jesus commended her faith and assured her that her faith had made her well.
