Commanding Your Morning devotion 12/04/2024
Scripture: James 1:14-15 (KJV) – “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
Explanation: James illustrates the progression of temptation leading to sin, highlighting the role of lust as the starting point.
When individuals are enticed by their own desires, if left unchecked, it leads to sin and ultimately to spiritual death. Recognizing and resisting the initial allure of lust is crucial in maintaining spiritual integrity.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Grant us discernment to recognize the temptations of lust and the strength to resist them. Help us to turn away from sinful desires and pursue righteousness.
May we find our satisfaction and fulfillment in You alone, guarding our hearts against the deceitfulness of lust. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
